Live@EDU Outlook Live - How to get started

Well I found snippets of cmdlet you can use in PowerShell however knowing how a lot of schools have drive by out sourced technicians and librarians/teachers looking after the school network I thought of commenting on what is going on in the scripts; not everyone has a full time team or administrator in their school.

It looks like the future will consist of schools taking advantage of Live@EDU Outlook Live so I hope this articles can help you in some way.

Greetings All!

Well I just got the email this morning regarding the Dell Latitude 2100 Mobile Computing Station.

The price was a little more than what I expected at around $4,500.00 AUD.

I was thinking more around the High 2's up to mid 3's however for your money it has everything integrated such as push image SW updates remotely, power without touching cords and no cord damage over time.

Well the Dell rep just brought in the Dell LatitudeTM 2100 into us for a look.

I must say it looked like a toy a first glance however after having a play with it the whole kit is a well balanced machine.

Tech: Palm treo pro - GPS problems

Don't you hate getting lost? Hang on I'll use my GPS.

Of all the times I needed to go to Brisbane I thought having my new Palm Treo Pro would save me from the labyrinth of Brisbane Queensland streets; denied.

Some how the GPS was not initiating at all and GPRS can only get you so far, so Google Maps and WhereIS where saying I am within 400m of location LOST :S Grrr!.

Even though this is not the "FIX" I have figured out how to get it working when I need it. I tried quite a few things from other forums however there seems to be a few revisions of the phone.

How to - Cisco WebAuth working with IAS Radius Server

Settings needed to get Cisco's WebAuth authenticating with Microsoft's IAS Radius.

Ever had a problem you could not figure out? Well this little sucker gave me a headache.

This little chestnut ended up being pretty simple compared to when we looked back on everything we did try.

A funny quote that comes to mind (Eureka):

Basically to start if you are running a Cisco controller with WPA-PSK, turn it off on all SSID's. We were told this much later by an Australian TAC technician if you are using WLC 4400 series up to IOS 5.2 (February 2009 release) you cannot run WebAuth via Radius even if you have 8021.x working fine; it is a know problem.

Did you know - Why are SMS text messages so short?

The other day whilst replying to an SMS on my Palm Treo Pro I thought why am I restricted to "so many" characters per txt?

Don't I have too much time in my day lol

It is so easy to go over (20-25 cents a txt) when you send an SMS and sometimes that 2nd or 3rd one manages to get in there even when it is only a few characters long :-?

I logged into Facebook this morning and found a friend posted this article, kind of weird actually but I'll take it convenient start to the week

Running VMware ESX we recently had troubles with Vmotion not moving VM's between our Dell 2950 servers.

Snippet from Knowledge base article we use to sort out our problem.

Manufacturers (Intel and AMD, specifically) continually improve their CPUs, releasing new features that may or may not be compatible with VMotion.

To circumvent VMotion CPU-compatibility checking for a specific feature or extended feature, you can modify the default bit mask. The bit mask-modification process (sometimes referred to in various VMware documents as & relaxing a particular constraint) varies according to VirtualCenter Server version and ESX version.

This article provides overriding VMotion CPU compatibility restrictions between ESX Servers.

If you are like me I like to use the auto complete email feature in my To: field in Microsoft Outlook 2003.

Ever wanted to know how to edit that list or take it with you and save it?

If you are not running roaming profiles your list is stuck on that workstation or laptop.

So here are a couple of things you can try in regards to editing and saving your list:

Start typing in the address that shows up incorrectly.

Hit the Down arrow key to select the auto completed address.

How to uninstall Microsoft Java VM

If you are using Java VM and running into problems with permissions not working in Internet Explorer like I had in Seat Advisor then this could help you out.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall JavaVM but no matter how many times I tried to clean out add ins in IE or Add/Remove programs it would still think it had JavaVM installed.

I found a command that allows you to delete the sucker so you can start fresh.

Uninstall Microsoft VM

1. Click Start > Run.
2. Type:
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection java.inf,UnInstall
The Microsoft VM uninstall dialog box appears.
3. Click Yes to confirm.
4. Reboot when prompted.
